
ROBINSON,
The Rev. Dr. Leslie C. 82, of Palm Harbor, FL, a retired Presbyterian
Minister and Pastoral Counselor, passed away at home on Jan. 10, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Callie McArthur Robinson, their sons,
Frederick of Oldsmar, FL and Stephen and his wife Elizabeth of Boulder,
CO; his brother Dr. Charles Robinson of Flowery Branch, GA and many
nieces and nephews. Dr. Robinson was predeceased by his parents John and
Bessie Robinson of Greenville, SC and brother John Robinson. He was a
longtime member of Eastlake Woodlands Country Club and the YMCA. Born in
Charlotte, NC, Dr. Robinson attended Davidson College, where he earned
his BA in English, and the Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA,
where he earned his Bachelors of Divinity with honors, Masters of
Theology, and Doctorate in Ministry. He served churches in NC, WV, and
VA, was moderator of two Presbyteries, and was an honorably retired
member of the Presbytery of the James. Dr. Robinson followed his passion
for helping others into the counseling field in the 1970s, founding and
directing Pastoral Counseling Ministries,a non-profit providing
therapeutic counseling services. He was a member of the American
Association of Pastoral Counselors and the American Association of
Marriage and Family Therapists. Dr. Robinson and his wife retired to FL
in 2001, where he enjoyed the sunshine, tennis, his local church, and
their many friends in the area. A memorial service will be held on Jan.
21 at 11 am at Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church in Clearwater. In lieu
of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Peace Memorial
Presbyterian Church, Suncoast Hospice, or to any charity or your choice.
