You and your congregation
are invited to join
Presbyterians
throughout
Presbytery of the James
to celebrate the
200th Anniversary
of
Union Presbyterian Seminary
during a
Worship Service
at the
Richmond Convention Center
April 22 - 4 pm
There are several ways for people to participate in this joyous occasion:
- Music--there will be a mass choir made up of
musicians from churches large, small, and everything in between.
- The Lord's Supper--Teaching elders, Ruling
elders, and other ordained persons are asked to help serve the Lord's
Supper.
- Young People--An offering that will support the
work of the seminary will be collected by young people.
- Worship--People of all ages will come together
to worship God as we pray, praise, sing, hear the Word read and
proclaimed, and gather around the Lord's Table to be nourished for
discipleship.
Music for a mass choir will be available soon. We also are looking for
children's choirs, bell choirs, and other ways to make a joyful noise during
Seminary Sunday. Meanwhile, we ask you to: share this information with
Elders, Musicians, Youth Leaders . . . AND encourage your congregation to
set the day aside and plan to participate in this worship opportunity that
comes only once in 200 years!
Only Once
in 200 years!
Don't miss it!
At the first Seminary Sunday in Roanoke, VA, 16 choirs came together to lead
1,000 people in worship. This is an opportunity to continue the celebration
in Richmond; another Seminary Sunday will follow in Charlotte, NC.
For those who need it, child care will be available in the Second
Presbyterian Church Child Care Center just two blocks from the Richmond
Convention Center.
