EVENT
OPPORTUNITY ~
“In Bethlehem Today,
Glory” is a musical play written by
Presbyterian Minister, Ken Goodrich of Sandston Presbyterian Church. It
is to be performed by adults or teenagers, consists of seven original
songs written by Ken, and it can be staged by congregations of any size
and every denomination. Goodrich writes, “It has long been my
observation that the market for church presentations of Christmas
musicals has been cornered almost exclusively by the largest
congregations or mega-churches, which have seemingly unlimited
production resources and access to a cast of thousands.”
This musical is
designed as a Sunday morning worship service, with a running length of
approximately 50 minutes, but is adaptable to any other time and may be
performed by as few as eight cast members or as many as you’d like. All
that is required are a couple of good voices and a group of folks who really
enjoy singing and hamming it up a bit. Musical accompaniment can be a lone
guitar, a piano, a combination of both, or with as many instruments as you
wish to add. For more information contact: Ken Goodrich,

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH - USA ~ 2008 General Assembly
Letter
Correction to VINE, July 2008, Volume X,II
It was recently
reported that the
Presbytery of The James Hunger Committee gives $3000 to
the Haiti Fish Farms mission each year, which only
supplies one feeding center for one month. In
fact, the POJ Hunger Committee sends $14,400 to the
Haiti (Matthew 28)mission every year, and this sum
supports 5 feeding centers for 12 months. This
ministry is an ongoing, monthly ministry which is saving
lives in Haiti. Additionally, members of the POJ
Hunger Committee have visited this project several
times to observe the feeding centers in operation. As a
result, the Hunger Committee can maintain some oversight
over recipients of POJ funds.
